How do I take a bunch of songs and combine them onto a cd?

My Daughter has to come up with a dance for her school. She wants me to make a cd for that's basically like a mix-tape. So does anyone know how to take a bunch of songs and put it all on a cd so that it comes out like a mix-tape. Like a DJ would do.
