UbuntuME for the Middle East?
Ubuntu Muslim Edition (UbuntuME) 8.04, is a new distro w/ Islamic software, a Quran study tool and web content filtering utility. Comes w/ Arabic lang packs, Quran recitations, an installable DVD (with more Quran recitations), and a script to convert std. Ubuntu installs to UbuntuME. Also features WebStrict (parental control tool) enabled by default; Zekr 0.7.0 (Quran study tool) installed and configured to play Quran recitations; Minbar and Firefox 'Pray Times' add-on installed; Monajat (display Islamic prayers); Thwab (encyclopedia); UbuntuME artworks: usplash, login screen, Islamic wallpapers, theme etc. Well. This is news to me. Have there been ANY other religious based efforts to 'weave' religious order into a operating system? Not speaking against anybodies religious belief or disbelief..., but why on a PC? Anybody seen my Mandriva disk?
