Plastic Surgery and health company covering costs?

My son had the same situation for the same reason as you. His was in his stomach area. Our family Dr. wrote to his ins. co. for pre approval for him which stated the over hanging skin was causing him rashes & infections from the folds of under the "extra" skin. By removing the over hanging skin, would eliminate this situation completely. His ins. Co. DID approve it, but of course it had to be done by a general surgeon, not a cosmetic surgeon. Of course it didn't show because of course he just wore shirts over that area, but he looked fantastic after it was done & actually, who cared who did it, as long as that skin was removed. It would just have to be stated that something was resulting due to the excessive skin actually being the problem of whatever your Dr. chose as a reason. He didn't have the best ins. either, but it was covered nonetheless..Actually, she wasn't even a Dr., she was a PRN w/degrees!!! .Best to you, & it's sure worth a try...:)
