Is is possible to play a game but not have the specs for it?

i have this game('s revenge) but it cant work on my computer but works on my brothers computer... after experimenting i tink the problem lies with the grapic card. when i click on the game, it goes black then comes back to the destop screen.So issit possible to play this game with a lower graphic card/specs?
