Is it worth it to fix a Sony non HDTV?

I have a formerly very food 42" Sony non HDTV which just decided to black out all of a sudden whle I was watching TV like a power outage except this TV no longer can be powered up again is it worth it to have this TV repaired or would I be better off buying a new TV??
